I do not design a lot of parties, but was thrilled to design the party for the launch of Art Binder, held at the rooftop of the McKittirck Hotel at the Gallow Green. For this event I took my inspiration from the rooftops of Marrakech. And a good time was had by all – 2014
For the BAM Opera House carpet I took my inspiration from the motifs and the architecture of the opera house. This of course makes the carpet personal and unique to BAM – September 2014
I have designed an umbrella exclusive to the Neue Galerie. The design is based on my Suzani fabric called Sunder. The fabric takes its inspiration from Wiener Werkstätte designer Dagobert Peche, as well as the Ottoman Empire. It is always an honor to design for the Neue Galerie. It is a jewel of a museum in NYC that also houses my favorite museum store.
For Wallpaper Magazine’s “handmade” exhibition I designed a quilt using end pieces of my Ikat fabric. The quilt is completely hand sewn. The handmade exhibition opens in Milan during Salone del Mobile at the Palazzo Brioni. It is one of my favorite shows during the fair - 2012

In the late 1980s I lived in Rome with my Italian architect boyfriend. We lived in a beautiful old palazzo built in the 16th century on a cobblestoned square next to the beloved Tortoise fountain. Across the hall lived the wonderful American photographer and art critic Milton Gendel. We became good friends. Milton was at the center of the Roman social whirl at its most glamorous time. From artists to royals, Milton documented the period with his photographs, which are both personal and candid yet beautifully composed. Fortunately for me, I am now an avid collector of his marvelous pictures.
