MADELINE WEINRIB IS A PROUD SUPPORTER OF PROJECT MALA
Founded in 1989, Project Mala is a registered charity in the USA and UK. It is an action program for the elimination of child labor in the carpet weaving industry through education and community outreach. As the cornerstone of its mission, the organization funds and operates nine schools throughout India’s carpet belt. Since its inception, Project Mala has worked to educate children from over 45 rural villages throughout Uttar Pradesh, fostering literacy and empowerment among children previously subjugated by exploitative labor practices. Upon completion of the Project Mala curriculum, students are eligible to matriculate into the state secondary system to pursue higher education and advanced degrees. In 2011 Project Mala has taken a step into secondary education to help children continue their schooling. As a Patron of the organization, Madeline Weinrib is proud to support Project Mala and its initiatives. Madeline has witnessed the good work that Project Mala is doing and feels that they are the most effective charity in the region in regards to their funding and commitment.
